The most senior executives, as well as the lowest, suffered a decrease in salary levels

Salaries in Portugal are falling simultaneously in senior positions and base companies, according to a study released today by Mercer consultant. In the remaining intermediate categories were slight increases, but lower than the increases recorded last year and even worse prospects for next year. The Total Compensation Portugal 2015 study looked at 112,677 jobs in 307 companies on the Portuguese market. The most senior executives of general direction or management, as well as the lowest, and as administrative workers, suffered a decrease in salary levels, registering falls between -1.60% and -0.02%.

The remaining functional families analyzed received light increases labor (between 0.25% and 1.52%). According to Mercer, increases are below those observed in 2014 (between 1.18% and 1.56%) and the prospects for 2016 are even lower variations: between 0.79% and 1.24%. (Read more)
