In the first eight months of this year were created 26 426 companies in Portugal, a number that triples the closures. Insolvencies are retreating.

The barometer of InformaDB data on business activity in Portugal show that the creation and closure of companies in Portugal continue to increase in 2015, though at different paces.

In the first eight months of the year 26,426 companies were born in Portugal, representing an increase of 9% over the same period. The number of closures increased by 4.8% for 8806.

The creation of companies is thus growing at a faster rate, and the total births this year has tripled the cases of closures.

Taking into account only the month of August, births rose 14.2% to 2,323 and the closures rose 18.6% to 873.

With regard to insolvencies fell by 6% in the first eight months of the year to 2,934. August fell 1.1% to 184.
