Portugal is increasingly the supplier of paper to Europe. Exports rise continuously and contributed to the economic growth of the country. But what are the firms that contribute most to this increase?

According to data compiled by the INE and analyzed by the magazine Vision, Petrogal, responsible for the transformation of oil into refined products is the champion of exports.

After oil, is the auto industry leading sales outside. The Volkswagen Group is the owner of the second place on the list, which “shows that we are part of large production chain that is mounted across Europe”, explains economist Manuel Caldeira to view.

Still on the podium comes Portucel, producer of paper and pulp having more and more countries to order their production.

According to evaluations of the Bank of Portugal, the trade balance shows positive signs: between January and August this year, Portugal bought goods and services abroad amounting to 46.7 billion euros, while sold goods and services that represent values ​​amounting to EUR 49 billion.
