Portuguese consumers trust renews maximum of 14 years

Consumer confidence in Portugal improved again in September to the highest level since June 2001, today unveiled the National Statistics Institute.
“The increase in the consumer confidence indicator in September reflected the positive contribution of perspectives on the evolution of savings and expectations about developments of the financial situation of the household and the economic situation, more significant in the first case,” explains today INE.
According to the same source, consumer confidence in Portugal, which is rising since the beginning of 2013 improved from -18.1 to -17.2 in August September. “The upward trend observed since early 2013 and recording the highest level since June 2001″.
But the economic climate indicator stabilized for the second consecutive month, at +1.4, having fallen in manufacturing and trade, stabilized in construction and public works and increased slightly in services.
“In September, the confidence indicator declined in manufacturing industry and trade, stabilized in construction and public works and increased slightly in services,” the INE.
